Perfect slices every time
After buying some not so great bread slicers, I decided to take a chance on a more expensive model. And boy am I glad I did. Not only does this cut the perfect slice of sandwich bread, it works great for artisan sourdough. It outperformed its competition by miles. The size is slim enough to put in a cabinet when not in use. The design makes it very functional, I appreciate the suction cups along the bottom that keep it in place, and the turnstile handle gives a deli flare! Cleaning is a breeze, just have to have a Philips head screwdriver on hand to remove the blade. Overall, a great purchase and definitely worth the price tag.

Really good slicer
Really good sourdough bread slicer! I am glad I bought it because it is easy to use, cuts straight slices and looks to be very well constructed and not flimsy at all.I was hesitant because I had seen other slicer that mangle up the bread with the lever, but this slicer has a slice guide that protect the slice from being crushed or pushed by the lever.Works really well! Not ever going back to slicing my loaves that took so long to make with a knife and end up squeezing and crushing my bread and getting uneven slices all the time. The suction cups make it stable on my granite coutertops, doesnt move around.Really grest slicer! Trully recommend.

Great for home made bread
I use this to cut up the freshly baked sourdough that we make. This allows us to freeze it and just pull out what we need. The slicer has great suction cups to stop it sliding, but it keeps sticking when I didn’t intend, so I have to keep it on its side until I need itCleaning can be a little tedious. Y the blade is screwed in with a regular screw which could deform, an allen key head on the screw would have been better. Also the blade is riveted to a cog to make it go round, however I detect a wobble when the blade is tightly screwed in, hence risk of over tightening to prevent wobble and damaging the screw head.

Great option to the name brand
As a Vine Reviewer it takes a lot for me to review items I have to actually pay for, but this one was worth it. I tried the slotted ones and a bow knife and those work. but none offer the consistency so far as this one. I was very skeptical about it being a non-name brand and have never owned the name brand to compare that one, but this one has been great so far. I liked that this one had a bread slicer catcher/guide to keep it form running into my hand and was cheaper. The only two things I don't love - first the suction is great, too great. It doesnt move at all, but when its time to put away you feel like you're about to break it or hurt yourself. I've learned to only stick two of the 4 suctions to my counter top but I wish there was like a knob to lock and unlock it to the counter. Second, and this is the greatest missed opportunity....some sort of markings to be able to repeat cuts. Like if there were 5 lines almost like a toaster, you could know that you like your sandwich bread at a level 2 and your french toast level 4 or something like that. Without doing anything, you will just have to estimate if you close the gap to store like I do. My work around for this has been to take a permanent sharpie pen and draw my own lines. Game changer! One day I might even take the time to create a nice sticker or something, but for now the hand drawn line is working.

Best thing ever!
I’ve been making bread for awhile now and have come to hating slicing it up. I would used 2 different gadgets before this and thought it made it easier. My hand would still hurt afterwards. I would just end up doing it free handed but then my slices were atrocious.I went back and forth on getting this one or the expensive name brand one and I’m so happy I went with this one! The price is way better and I’m 100% sure I am getting the best results. Now I don’t groan when I have to slice a loaf. In fact it’s kinda fun because of the ease of it.

I have a few issues with this slicer
So far, it cuts my both fresh and not so fresh sourdough loaves very nice. It does smash down my loaf and the slice as I'm cutting, but both spring back up.But I have a few issues:I have owned this for less than 2 weeks and the dial that adjusts the slice thickness already has loosened, causing my bread slices to be huge. This means I need to find a perfect size wrench and tighten the bolt under the base. I was not expecting this to happen so early. If my use of the slicer caused that, then I'm suspecting this happens after slicing every two to three loaves. And that is cumbersome to deal with.I also wish there was a guard of some sort over the blade on the top where it is currently exposed. I leave the entire slicer covered with a towel on the counter so that my little ones don't slice their little fingers reaching over it for something. Also, the suction is for real! Super great suction that keeps the board from moving when using, but the suction cups are almost entirely covered by the base of the slicer, so it's difficult to get a finger under there to loosen the suction in order to move the whole thing. So I need to figure out a workaround. My husband has to pull out a butter knife to break the seal of the suction cups in order to move it.Overall, I would not recommend this exact bread slicer without sharing my issues with it. It'll do (as long as I can tighten the dial! If I cannot tighten it, then it is essentially useless for me. But I haven't looked for my wrench set just yet).

Perfect Slices every time
I bought this manual bread slicer mainly for my homemade sourdough loaves, and I couldn’t be happier. Sourdough can be a pain to slice evenly, especially with the thick crust and soft interior, but this slicer has completely changed the game. The guide holds the loaf steady, and I finally get uniform slices that don’t look like a toddler cut them. Whether I’m making toast, sandwiches, or freezing a batch, it’s been incredibly helpful. I also love that it’s compact and folds away neatly when I’m not using it.The build quality is solid—no wobble, no slipping—and it cleans up easily. If you’re into baking your own bread (especially the rustic, crusty kind), this is one of those tools that you didn’t realize you needed until you try it. Highly recommend!
