Legendary transparent sound with powerful precise low and highs
These are the legendary headphones. Technically there is no match for this in its price range or beyond. Only thing people have to decide according to sound signature. Please go for 32ohms if you use for mobile or portable players. It just perfect with portable players.Design- These are classic with bigger earcups for comfort. The velver pads are very good. All parts replacable and mostly metal used. Headband pressure is light and comfortable .These are not for portable use.Sound- superb transparent sound with powerful precise lows and highs and very very natural mids.Bass/lows- just amazing. It can produce superb precise deep bass. There is no mid bass emphasis like in sennheiser or like sub bass emphasis on sony. Bass is just natural with slight emphasis on sub bass.Mids- very very natural mids. Its some what slightly U SHAPE.Highs- very very much extended and powerful and energetic. Its somewhat fatiging if the recording has sharp highs. Otherwise its very good.Imaging, instrument separation and sound stage are just awesome and I can say these are among the best you can find in any price range.Overall the sound signature is nearly flat with no attempt to make sound fat or pleasing like other manufacturers do. Technical capability of the driver is just amazing on how fast frequency response is.Finally these are for people who are very serious about the audio quality and have tasted the audiophile grade headphones before. Directly coming from commercial headphones may find it difficult to appreciate or understand the sound superiority these legend has. Also these are not for people sensitive to highs because these are on brighter side with extended highs. But you can compensate by using better recorded flac or higher bitrate music files or using equlizer. Also these are open back and so no sound isolation.Always remember to listen them or any open back headphones in quite place with low volume to save your ears. Happy listening.

Best Headphone
This is the best option for audiophile experience. Built is super strong and comfortable. You need to listen the Flac HQ files to get best out of this headphone. I use to hear all day long without any discomfort. I definitely recommend this set for my friends.

best pair of beyerdynamics for flac files on my Sam Note 8.
This has the brightest sound of all beyerdynamics on the verge of sibilance but that is why I like it.Excellent Transient response .Best soundstage of them all.32 ohm version easy to drive with mobile phones.Open design so No sound isolation.Have to pull it out to Max extension to fit my large head but then becomes the most comfortable pair I own.Should be durable but I am not going to try to sit on it.Cons: the DT770 Pro 32 with semi closed design produces tighter bass though this one has surprisingly good bass for an open design. Those who hate bright headphones pl stay away. Dedicated bassheads stay away too. For ALL others just jump aboard & enjoy almost any music to a degree you never dreamed of.

Great sound.
Great sound at this price point. I purchased it @ 15896 inr. The large sound stage, instrument separation and imagine all are excellent.I am not found any ear fatigue. 32 ohm version is perfect for portable devices. Previously I have used ath m50x headphones. Both are v shaped sound signature but dt 990 have great detail and imagine and great comfort because of valour earpad. Cloutail India packaging and service are excellent.

Superb soundstage.
I bought the 600 Ohm version since my headphone amp can drive it. Buy a 250 Ohm version for other home hifi. The detail I hear is unsurpassed and the soundstage is vast. Made a great choice.

Look no further! Best cans for under £250
The best general purpose headphones you will find under £250. I have owned the 'Pro' version of these in 250Ohm as well and can say that these 'Premium' versions have a nicer and more sturdy finish/build as well as a straight, but still fixed cable. Besides that, they sound identical.Excellent for music listening, especially those who like energetic or bass heavy music. Top end clarity is up there, along with the typical Beyer U/V shape mids, bass extension is fantastic. Great headphones for across the board music tastes, but powerful music such as Rock / Metal / Electronic especially.Gamers will be blown away! Chuck your cheapo 'not famous for audio products in the slightest' gaming brand name headset out the window and buy these. Clarity and power like you have never heard. At 250Ohms they should really be driven by an amp. I can recommend Creative's Soundblaster X G5 or even the G1 if using them with a PC.I can say that if you are looking at these as your first set of good HiFi headphones then buy them, right now. You will not be dissapointed, these are easily the best, if not at least top 3 of most well balanced general use cans sub £250.The only reason to buy these over the cheaper Pro versions is that these have a straight cable and different finish. Apart from that they sound the same.

Simply put, the best headphones I've ever had (See edit)
I've never been into Audiophilic headphones, or got what the buzz was about getting expensive headphones. But these DT 990's really make me appreciate what it's all about, I can now hear instruments in some of my music I wasn't even aware of, it's almost like I'm listening to some songs for the first time again, but this time, they're are being heard the way they were meant to be heard. The base on these is clean, not too overpowering, but just enough to give you that oomph. The vocals and strings on these also sound pretty amazing, I have a feeling I won't be touching my old headphones ever again. I'm using the Creative G5 AMP/DAC, though not the best out there for these cans, they are adequate for now, but I'd say if you've got the cash and want the best experience, I would recommend the Schiit Modi and Magni DAC and AMP. They're American made, and they are top quality for their price. Just make sure you pick the UK plug before you order them.Playing games on these is also pretty incredible, the directional audio is on point. I've played racing games, FPS shooter (BF4) and these headphones are so much better than those "gaming" headphones, and without the fake 7.1 virtual surround feature, these headphones are best experienced in stereo.EDIT: I've had these for a few months now, and like a few others, I've begun to notice my left cups have a little rattling to them, and the right cups crackle sometimes. None of my other headphones exhibit this, so it has to be exclusive to these.I'm a bit disappointed to be honest, as the DT 990 Editions are the best headphones I've used otherwise.

Great multi-purpose hi-fi
Great hi-fi headphones that double up as amazing gaming headphones too. After coming from a hyper-x cloud revolver s headset I can immediately notice the difference in better sound resolution and soundstage in music and games.I did plenty of research into other headphones and these suit a multi-purpose need. The dt 880 are slightly more musically focussed with more accuracy and semi-open design. I love the fully open dt 990’s for gaming. Just bear in mind you will hear outside sounds if you are somewhere noisy. As for talking into a microphone I find it nice to hear yourself clearly with these. As for the 250ohm pro vs this 600 ohm premium. From what I’ve read the 250 has piercing high frequencies where its more refined on the 600 ohm version along with other things and to me they sound great BUT I’ve not had the chance to physically compare any other hi-fi headphones.I am using a dedicated amp + dac with these. It may be overkill but I think it enables them to produce the best sound, especially as they are 600ohms with 97.56 dB/V SPL or 95.43 dB/mW sensitivity. You can use online calculators to see how much power an amp needs for these headphones. At 110db volume it needs 29mw or 4.17 VRMS. So I chose the JDS labs atom that provides 125mw or 8.68 VRMS at 600ohms.Another alternative set-up would be to use the Schiit magni amp + modi dac for about the same price but with way more power output compared to the one I chose. Apparently these sound very good, I just went with JDS because in a few audio tests on graphs it was a little better.

Excellent headphones
Excellent headphones, good build quality, excellent sound. I was searching for replacement from my Denon Ah-D2000 which broke. I read numerous reviews, was looking for comfortable pair of headphones with excellent sound quality, with more soft sound which is easy to listen to. Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition 32 Ohm fits the bill perfectly. I was bit afraid that they will be too analytical and too sharp, but paired with my sound card they sound really nice. I'm listening all sort of musics, from classical, through blues and jazz to rock, heavy rock and metal. They are better for classical and jazz music though, there are better headphones for heavy metal, but these ones sound exactly like I like. Also good for watching movies. You can wear them for couple hours and your ears will not be in pain or bleeding. I'm very happy with the purchase so far.
